Skyra

Access management tool

Under construction

Overview

Skyra is a tool offered by Dormakaba that allows organisations to manage access to different spaces or areas in multiple locations.

It’s an administration panel with two types of users:

  • Administrators: responsible for defining the spaces and locations whose access they want to manage. They are also responsible for creating and managing the users and profiles to which the tool can grant or revoke access to spaces and locations.
  • Dispatchers. They are responsible for deciding which users have access to which spaces.

My contribution

  • Designed the pilot proposal for the tool from scratch.
  • Created a navigable prototype.
  • Mapped out the navigation flows.
  • Proposed the information architecture for the site.
  • Created a mini design system maintaining the look and feel of Dormakaba’s interfaces.
  • Created a small iconography.
  • Held meetings with the client
  • Collaborated with the front-end development team.

The process

1. I received a briefing with basic information about the problem the tool was intended to solve: managing access to different spaces in an agile manner.

2. I studied the types of users the client had in mind.

3. I outlined the main user flows and the site architecture. I used wireframes to visualise the result.

4. I designed an aesthetic for the interface in line with the client’s identity.

5. I presented the client with an initial proposal which, after two modifications, became the final pilot.

6. I created a navigable functional prototype that visually presented the actions that the tool allowed to be performed.

7. Handoff to the development team.

The result: navigable prototype
